Charge & Explore helps Tesla vehicle owners plan charging stops and discover things to do while charging. This page explains how to get help, manage your data, and answers to common questions. Charge & Explore is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tesla, Inc.

Getting started

• Find charging stops. Charge & Explore uses your device location to show reachable charging stations near you and along your route. You can browse stations without connecting a Tesla account.
• See what to do while charging. For each stop we suggest nearby activities sized to your estimated charging window.
• Connect your Tesla (optional). Connecting your Tesla account lets the app read your battery level and charging status to tailor recommendations. Sign-in happens on Tesla's own secure page; we never see your Tesla password.

Managing your data

• Disconnect your Tesla account. Open the app's settings and choose Disconnect Tesla. This immediately revokes our access and deletes the vehicle data and tokens we stored for you.
• Turn off location. Location-based features are behind their own toggle and can be disabled at any time in the app or in your device's iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
• Delete your data. To request deletion of all data associated with your account, email us with the subject "Delete my data" and we will process it regardless of jurisdiction. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an official Tesla app?

No. Charge & Explore is an independent application. Tesla is a trademark of Tesla, Inc., and we have no affiliation with, endorsement from, or sponsorship by Tesla, Inc.

Do I need a Tesla to use the app?

No. You can browse charging stations and nearby activities using just your location. Connecting a Tesla account is optional and simply personalizes the charging-window estimates.

Can the app control my car?

No. We do not request vehicle-command permissions. The app only reads the minimum charging-related signals you consent to share.

Why does the app ask for my location?

Location is used to find reachable charging stops near you and to estimate travel time to each station. It is requested only when you use location-based features, and you can revoke it at any time.
